About Me
As the passionate and enthusiastic person that he is, Alieu Dampha is a very dynamic personality with a burning desire to help individuals and organizations that are looking to expand opportunities and excel. Helping people to begin to live their potential and sharing how Self-reliance, breaking through fears, realizing one’s self-worth, and being resourceful really affect the vital areas of our lives.
Through his experiences with the defeats and disappointments of life, dealing with the challenge of stuttering, and all the challenges that it bears. Growing up not having much of anything Alieu learned the power of self-reliance, self-worth, being fearless, and being resourceful and how essential these qualities are in order to live fully.
My story begins in the smallest country in Africa (Gambia) where I was born and raised before moving to Sweden as a 10-year-old boy. I have two wonderful parents that love me and have done the best that they could do for me according to their abilities.
I have always been a dreamer, and I believe that dreaming is the first step towards anything or any destination that is really worthy of our efforts. I did not have much growing up but I have always had my dreams, I remember wearing the same pair of pants for a whole year during my first year in high school, not because I wanted to. I just did not have the resources at the time and by not having all the resources that I needed I learned to become resourceful at an early age.
Though a dream and a jack of all trades, I must have had atleast 15 jobs, from sitting behind a desk to janitorial work I did it all. I’ve always had a deep interest for people, I was a natural born socialbutterfly growing up despite my stuttering. My deep interest in people and the deep inner knowing of my abilities to impact people ha led to what I’m doing today.
You know sometimes when you know something deep inside but you just don’t belive in yourself enough or don’t have the courage so you just put it aside. Even though everybody around you is telling you that you have a certain talent! This is probably something that most of us can relate to. I was fascinated by speaking and wanted to be a speaker, a coach, and a great orator. A crazy idea for someone who stutters, I know…. I was faced with a significant challenge that has become my greatest gift.
I had a big stuttering problem as you now know, so speaking fluently was not my strong suit and it did not allow me to speak in front of a group of people. I would totally panic and begin to stutter like never before whenever I was in front of a crowd.
So common sense would be for me to not try to reach my goal of conquering myself, my greatest fears and becoming a speaker, and helping people live their potential. But that was not it for me. I broke through my fears and started on my journey sharing principles and strategies, helping people to go for their dreams, creating the person they want to become, or whatever goals that would lead to a more fulfilling and happy life!
